The genus Oberonia was believed to be of little horticultural interest when known at the turn of the 19th. Century, nevertheless the small species shown above received much interest when on display at the D.O.G. Conference at Dresden, Germany – March 2004.
It occurs on the east coast of Australia & is also found on Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and New Caledonia. Grows epiphytically in shady conditions on rain forest trees – from sea level to 3300ft.
Intermediate, shade, high humidity, air movement, daily misting, weekly dipping to wet it mounting and an occasional feed are its main needs in cultivation.
