Terestrial Decidous. Grows well outdoors under the shade of low growing trees, shrubs or bushes. Best in pot of open compost with some moisture retentive element (sterile garden loam) and topped with a non-absorbent grit, with pot immersed to 75% of its height in the garden soil. This practice enables lifting for removal to a cool frost free position, where heavy, severe frost are known. Needs protection from slugs/snails water regularly when growth is developing after a rest period and give a weak feed occasionally.
